Free Voluntary Home Fire Safety Inspection
The Program
The VHFSI Program will send a trained fire department representative into homes at the request of the residents. The goal is to identify possible hazards within the home and provide the resident with solutions to mitigate the hazards. Residents within our primary target area will be notified of the free service, and made aware of the benefits. Residents will be assured the inspections are confidential and will not be shared with any group or agency. A list of suggested corrections will be left with the home occupant. The occupant will do all changes, improvements or repairs voluntarily. There is no enforcement component of the program. The primary occupant will be asked to sign a copy of the inspection report and releasing the District of liability.
